2012 Tesla Dinner at Tawarri Function Centre

Tesla Day dinner is an annual event held in Perth hosting representatives from the diplomatic corps, universities, industry groups, scientific institutions, professional and engineering organizations as well as friends and supporters of the Tesla Forum of WA.

Tesla Day has been established to celebrate the legacy of Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest inventors of all times.

Milisav Vasev, President, talked about Forum’s future objectives and projects and Her Excellency Neda Maletic, Ambassador of Serbia, expressed her appreciation to Tesla Forum and all guests for promoting the legacy of Nikola Tesla.

This year’s Tesla Day Guest Speaker was Dr Igor Bray, Distinguished Professor in Physics from Curtin University. Igor talked about theoretical physicists and the place Tesla has among them. Having a theoretical physics as an after-dinner topic is very challenging task for most of the people. However Igor used a serious of entertaining video clips and to illustrate main points in his presentation and made this highly scientific topic extremely interesting and enjoyable for all.

One of the highlights of the night and enormous pleasure for all guests was appearance of talented, award winning Australian singer and actress Ms Ursula Yovich. Ursula’s Serbian-Aboriginal background has fit nicely into the Tesla theme and celebration. She sang four songs and the audience was simply blown away with her beautiful voice and extraordinary performance!

The dinner dance music was performed by ZigaTango and brought the guest to the dance floor. To make it all even more interesting, Kings Coffee donated award for the dancing completion and it has gone to Goca and Dragan Simic as the best performing dancing pair.

The dinner was a great success and it once again proves an extraordinary interest and respect that exist for Nikola Tesla’s work and achievements. We would like to thank all those who came and supported the Tesla Forum’s efforts.
