Dan Bielich wins Nikola Tesla Medal at Murdoch University

Mr Dan Bielich is the recipient of the Nikola Tesla Medal award for best-graduating student completing a degree in the Bachelor of Engineering (Electric Power Engineering) or B.Sc. Physics and Nanotechnology for 2023 at Murdoch University in Bentley, Western Australia. The Medal was presented to Dan by Beverley Knezevic and Milosav Djordjevic from Tesla Forum. The Awards Ceremony was a unique opportunity to acknowledge the brilliant minds and remarkable accomplishments of the most talented students from Murdoch’s School of Engineering and Energy.

We were very pleased to have opportunity to meet Dan and his grandparents that flew from Sydney to Perth for this event, which made this occasion even more precious to him.

Dan was very pleased to win the prize and particularly loved the medal.  Interestingly, by birthplace, Dan is the closest Tesla Medal winner to Nikola Tesla than any other winner to date as his birthplace is in Rijeka, which is about 150km from Smiljan where Tesla was born!

Dan’s grandma told us that when Dan (Danilo) was born, his grandfather said that he would become new Nikola Tesla! … it seems to us that things are moving in the right direction and we trust that this award brings him one step closer to fulfill his grandfather’s wish!

Congratulations to Dan and his family that must be so proud of him. We wish him great success in his professional career and life!
