2009 Tesla Dinner Parmelia Hilton Hotel, Perth11 July 20092009 – Tesla Celebration Diner ]]> ]]>     For the sixth consecutive year Perth’s Tesla Forum has celebrated Nikola Tesla, the great Serbian-American inventor and scientist. The Tesla Day celebration was held in the elite Parmelia Hilton in Perth, and was sold out several weeks in advance.   The cohesion of science and excellent music once again proved to be exceptionally interesting and all present enjoyed the program.   The guest of the evening was Professor Brian O’Brien, esteemed NASA physicist and participant in space travel projects flights Apollo 11, 12 and 13. Professor O’Brien conducted a very interesting presentation on the subject of Auroras and moon dust.   The musical aspect of the evening’s program displayed the sheer brilliance of Vladimir Urosevic on clarinet and Nikola Babic on viola, as both WA Symphony Orchestra members dazzled as a duo. Musical programme included lots of Mediterranean music from Zucchini Bros Trio which ignated lots of action on the dance floor.   Dr Wally Knezevic, Chairman of the Tesla Forum, spoke about the activities of the Forum, while the MC for the evening was Vedrana Grbovic, Miss Serbia and finalist of Miss World 2006.   Distinguished guests at the dinner included representatives from government and scientific institutions in Western Australia, Lepsa Stulic, Charge d’Affairs from the Serbian Embassy in Canberra, and many more.   During the course of the evening, fundraising was conducted in form of balloon lottery, which created lots of excitement and the funds raised will go towards the purchase of a Tesla Columbus Egg to be displayed at Scitech – Perth’s centre for the promotion of science among youth.    The dinner was a great success.  We would like to thank all those who came and supported the Tesla Forum’s efforts, Professor O’Brien and our musicians for their exciting performances. Special thanks to Mr Mladen Males from Objektiv Photography (www.objektiv.com.au), David Sneddon, Mladen Stevanovic and Nebojsa Milic for donating many beautiful photos used for this presentation.
